H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Tent Pegging Championship
The Emirates Heritage Club is organising its annual Tent Pegging Championship at Boudheib Stables, featuring traditional shows, a heritage village and Emirati cultural performances.
Four teams from various countries will battle in different categories during the two-day event.
During the first day all teams will compete for throwing the lance in three rounds completed individually and three rounds competed as a team. The main purpose is to gallop a distance of 80 metres under six seconds and pick up the peg with the lance for a maximum of six points.
Four riders will then complete three sections side by side to pick up the four pegs under seven sections.
The second day will include sword competition, where horse riders will have to cut a piece of fruit hanging off a string while riding their horses. Similar to the first day, each rider will have to complete three sections individually and three rounds as a team.
