Petrostates: The Rise and Fall of OPEC in the 20th Century
Formed sixty years ago, OPEC was the first international organisation of the Global South. Today the cooperation amongst petrostates is complicated by political divisions, the rise of shale oil, the strength of the climate change agenda and oil exporters' plans to diversify their economies.
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is an intergovernmental organisation of 14 nations.
