Seminar On Tolerance in Culture, Literature & History
The Sheikh Zayed Book Award’s long record of accomplishment has proven that it is an incubator of culture and promoter of dialogue among civilizations and nations. Throughout its 14 years, the Award has strongly promoted tolerance and diversity of cultures. The Award honored and celebrated more than 90 winners from 48 countries.
In recognition and celebration of the Year of Tolerance, the Award is organizing a Seminar on Tolerance in Culture, Literature and History, shedding the light on its significant role in promoting cross cultural dialogue, coexistence and openness to peoples of varying cultures and religions from around the world. The UAE’s Year of Tolerance reflects the founder’s vision, as well as Sheikh Zayed Book Award’s mission.
The Sheikh Zayed Book award is an independent cultural initiative administered by Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi.
This award commemorates the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founding President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and his pioneering role in promoting national unity and development. The Award, and its associated accolades, are presented annually to outstanding writers, intellectuals, and publishers, as well as young talent whose writing and translation in humanities objectively enriches Arab intellectual, cultural, literary and social life.
